Skins for a buggy

getting a local dirt track car builder to re- do mine. will b very simple and he says less than 500 bucks :spin: :dblthumb:

Where are you located? I know quite a few folks in North Alabama who do bodies for dirt cars.

Re: Skins for a buggy

I did mine and spent about $90 on a 4x10 sheet of painted aluminum. It's easy to work with and other than the cost of rivets (or whatever you want to mount it with) that's all I've got in the skins on mine.

Hey Neal I got a guy in Falkville that can cut the skins for you but I know it's a little ways from you :dunno:

I am in Florence.

Where do you get the painted aluminum.

I dont mind taking it somewhere when I get to that point.

Give McKelroy Motorsports a call. He does good work just usually does dirt cars and don't know if he has time.

That's who I got my painted aluminum from - this is really thin though - you would be happier with thicker stuff

Almost all the dirt guys I know buy their aluminum from Doug. If you're looking for someone to do the work, I know a guy in green hill who does bodies. Also Rodney weaver in speake does good work. I can get some numbers for you if interested.

Doug is who I got my metal from and he has a guy that's works for him that's all he does is sheet metal work and he's great at it Doug's shop is right off river rd in ford city

Doug has good prices and like josh said his sheet metal guy knows his stuff

I went to a local race shop and got a roll of that thick plastic stuff people use to make skirts and bumpers for dirt track cars. I used it on the sides of my old yota buggy and it worked pretty good. I bought white and painted it but they have lots of diff colors. Paint doesnt stick real good but its easy to touch up with some rattle can and if you hit it it just flexes and goes back, doesn't dent or bend.
