Some guidelines... READ THIS [Updated 9/6/06]
Alright guys and gals, after mulling this over for a while, I've come up with some more detailed rules for the tech forum to make life easier on everyone.
1. First and foremost, this is a TECH area... not a BS'ing spot. If you want to do that, go to the Chatter Box. :flipoff:
2. If you don't know the answer for sure but have an educated guess or a suggestion, go ahead and post, just make sure you note in your post that your answer isn't from experience or that you're taking a guess. There's nothing wrong with posting what you've read elsewhere or making an educated guess, just make sure the person who's asking the question knows it.
3. When you post up a problem or question, be as descriptive and detailed as possible. Give us all the pertinent specs and info so people will know where to start, we don't read minds. Remember, when asking a tech question you can never be too detailed. More is better. If you don't feel like typing out all the info on your rig all the time, keep it in your sig and keep it up to date.
4. Lastly, if you don't have something constructive to post, don't post at all. Posting just to belittle or rag on somebody will not be tolerated. This isn't Pirate.
[EDIT 9-6-06] Please please please... if you see posts that are questionable, use the "Report this post" button. It works very well to get my attention if I'm not sifting through every thread and every new post. There's no need to point out or post in the thread, just hit that button so I know about it. I'll take care of it. Thanks, and have a nice day. :redneck:
