So my girlfriend asked me if I could tow her horse trailer with my 66 f100. I said sure but got to thinking. Are my standard load tires safe for this? Trailer weighs 2500lb Maybe another 1500lb with horse and tack.

check the load rate on the side wall. it will give you the max weight and pressure and then figure you trucks weight and the tounge weight..... short answer.... you shouldn't have any problem, just check your tire pressures.

Just make sure your tires are inflated either at the MAX recommended pressure, or near the max.

You don't want to be towing with 32 psi, in a truck tire. Truck tires are rated MUCH higher psi. Air pressure = rated payload.
