Hi guys, looking for some advice on motors and other things needed..

btw, Crash, it seems like the WARCRC site doesn't send out emails, I haven't gotten my confirmation email yet, its been 12 hours or so.

Anyway. I found a newbright Jeep in town, as well as an scx10 kit (not the rtr). I also have a Castle Sidewinder ESC, and just picked up a DX3r w/ SR3100 rx.

I'm really wanting the rig to be waterproof. What servos and motors would you recommend? does anyone use the Sidewinder ESC?

Sorry for the delay, but your warcrc account is active now. I approve them manually to stop the spam influx, and don't get to it every day.

Sounds like you've got a good start on a scaler with the SCX10.
Sidewinder ESC should fit your needs fine.

Motor - A lot of the scale guys go for a lot of throttle beore exercising any driving skill, and run a lot of motor to make that possible. I'm guessing a 35 turn would get you in the ballpark, but I'm not a scale expert. You also need to take into account what battery you plan to run.

As for a servo, my standard advice is to buy the best servo you can afford, but that is for comp rigs. For a scale truck, a $150 servo is probably overkill. Especially if you plan on hitting a lot of water, as the servo is pretty much always exposed, since it can't be sealed in a box like the ESC and receiver. Servos are fairly water resistant, but won't like to be completely immersed for extended periods.
