Alright...

...So I saw a tech article on running a saginaw tc pump on PBB--is this what y'all are doing? Looks like you can get into it for pretty cheap-ish :woody:

Also see PSC sells a high output version for more $$, is it worth it?? What's the diff between a P pump and TC pump? I hear all this jargon and no comprende. Just trying to figure out how to get this full hydro done the best way while still being on a semi-budget.

This dude did his for under $150

i just got a gm pump from autozone - the hydro bible says whichi year had the best output. Works so far, as much as I can tell with little time I have on it.

I hear too often of guys burning up the high output pumps and having problems.

i have run a factory pump from auto zone or advance auto on two different 350's. both worked great, all i did was drill out the fitting on the back of the pump.

Keep the stocker and add the biggest remote resevoir you can find, you will be more than fine. The high $ pumps are just not worth it and this is coming from a guy that has one

I had a High Flow KRC pump on my old motor and it worked great. My orbital sucked though.
When I get a system for my new buggy, I will run a complete system from PSC or POS installed just like they say.
I talked to Lance at PSC yesterday and asked him about all the talk about pumps and he said the biggest problem is because people don't install everything correctly and starve it for fluid or get it to hot and burn it up.

I just talked with Jeff at Howe... WOW. That man really put it all out there for me.

I will most likely just save my pennies for a full system from either Howe or POS.

EDIT: his sales pitch was that good but damn that's alot of monies I may be budget-in' it together this go round laughing1

which $$ pump do you have?

He's runnin a PSC setup. Im also running a PSC pump currently and ran this system on the Turd for the most part as well with modded stock pump and can tell no difference at all.

I have the PSC P Style Pump, but I cannot tell any difference. Biggest thing is it has a huge ass resevoir, that is what you need.

WHat's the dealio between P pump and TC pump? just style? or is there a performance/reliability diff?

find an old P pump an ddrill it. that's what I did for grant's tracker. I even mounted it for him. its fuggin easy. ****, I probably have 12 or more pumps laying out here, just grab one and put an extended resi on it like I did for ben or heath or grant.

resy was the main reason I bought the PSC, I wanted that nice clean look and the big external resy. Plus per XRRA rules that was the easiest quickest way to meet requirements on fluid containment.

Trail gear sells and external resy that is pretty cheap and has a mount with it as well.... something to look at for partial bling / low buck resy...

I am keeping my stock P pump. I have never heard great things about "high performance" pumps. PSC sells the can with the fittings for like 40 bucks to go on the p pump, then their external res works perfect.

I've heard people talk up the KRC's but 300+ for a pump is just a bit excessive in my world. I think alot of that has to do with neccasity in high HP applications as well though.

If your gonna make it rain, you might as well psunami laughing1

I heard of a guy with a KRC going back to a stock P pump. I for one, wouldnt spend that much on one, plus the KRCs mount takes a little more work than a regualar P pump.

I vote stocker with the flow mod and PSC AN fitting/ resy setup. I shoulda stayed with it, but I couldnt resist the PSC website and since I already bought the Ram I wanted as much PSC system as I could get so I had that bling bling

( its easier to justify those types of purchases when you break them up into several smaller purchases LOL )

the rez, inline cooler, line/fittings and ram are all reasonable. I'll see about picking up an orbital from Kelly and see if I can do the ballin on a budget route... I just added some dollars and the diff between this route and the bling route is a set of foa coilovers--HMMM pepper.gif
