What is the difference in a P style pump and a N style pump.....Yes i am a dumbass but I would still like to know what the defferences are

Re: Re: steering pumps

I think N pumps use spline shafts

(or that may be cb pumps)

All I've messed with are TC and P pumps.

I really must be a dumb ass I've never heard of an N style. What do they come on?

I ran an N pump on my last buggy due to it being required for use with a WOD accessory re-locator kit.

I think Patoyee's thread describes them well if I remember right

Saw this on pirate from Burkey

Standard rotation applications for an N pump: 04-06 Pontiac GTO and 82-86 Cadillac deville. The pump will bolt directly to the ls engine driver side head and just needs to be spaced out for each application. Try wide open design for the alternator and PS pump kit, it kicks ass

Did some more research... Looks like an "N" pump is basically a P pump that mounts kinda like TC pump (but wont interchange) and is setup for remote reservoir.

TC pump (1990 Pontiac Sunbird)

N pump (no res - 04 GTO)

P pump (no res - many applications...)

CB pump (I assume, it looks to have the same body as a TC pump, but has a .75" shaft (same as P pump) and a different back plate)
