in tha garage blowing smoke...
Was just looking at some videos, thought I remembered seeing that Tim Cameron was running stickies now.. My question is, considering that most of the riding that we do around our part of the country is loose dirt and rocks and hill climbs with an occasional section big rocks to climb, I can def see how well they would work if we were out west where its rocks everywhere.. I guess my question is are they really worth the money considering the little amount of all rock territory that we have? How are they on the loose dirt hill climbs that I see at all of the competitions?? I've been wondering this for sometime. Did not know if they were just as good as TSL's on loose dirt and then kick ass on rocks, or just pretty much good for rock? Just wanted to hear from some folks that run them. Let me know your experiences. Thanks!! Oh also there's the nasty mud we all know so well down south. Thanks again fellas.

TC just climbed Showtime hill again this weekend so I reckon them stickies work pretty good in loose dirt

43 sx sticky is the baddest all around tire in the southeast. :****:

Re: Stickies in tha south worth it???

Just this being said. Can the rich guys chime in on the cost of these tires and what tire works best for each style/driving conditions?

Stickys are the only way to go especially in the South. They are the only thing that's gonna hook up on a wet muddy rock.

What about the 43's and burping air? Is a matter of a certain wheel or the tire itself?

my opinion it's a certain wheel, that just happens to be what most run.

Double beadlocks and you can run the air down without a problem.

Just pulled the trigger on a set of 16.5 stickies from Goforth tires last week. said he ordered 100 tires in 16.5 and going fast! They will bein end of next week.

I have BFG reds and I love them just make sure you running gear is up to the extra traction if you are running big horse power

Jesus fellas... I figured those were the responses I would get!! Dam it. Axles I think will hold up, they're pretty well-built, I am running a 400 small block with more than enough power for my drivin style. Don't get me wrong if I had pockets of money I would hammer it everywhere i could. But I am very conscience of breaking stuff.. Because honestly I work on my rig almost every night and I can't afford to brake parts. Something about a six-month-old does that :dblthumb: .. I figured you guys would have those answers for me I was just kind of hoping for " no stick with the TSL'S" haha. ****. Looks like I have some stuff to sell and get going on some stickies. I swear to God when I buy them they will not even touch my driveway... I'm hoping for off-road use only the last me a very long time. For some reason I just figured TSL's would be the best all-around tire for the Southeast. But that is why ask you guys because I know you no more than I do. Thank you for your responses, i'm going to cry now. Hahaha. thumb.gif while We are talking about them, do they Chuck up and tear apart as bad, worse or bout tha same as other tires on the rocks? Like I said I'm not one for burning out tires unless necessary. Thanks again!! :dblthumb:

Re:

Maxxis treps in a stickie. Unlike a red they dont suck when it gets sloppy out. Two weekends ago I raced with mine and slung crap everywhere and cleaned with ease. Put then in rocks and did will. They are tough as nails in the sidewall but you can push the lugs together.

1. 43" SX sticky
2. Maxxis treps

I would personally rule out the BFG red because of sidewall strength, I plan on selling my current tires and going to either the treps or TSL/SX. The non-sticky SX is the best tire I have ran so far, makes my pitbull rockers look like BFG at's

They are!
Just the SX Sticky variety!

Sx stickys for sure. I was playing in the creek on my farm last weekend on a bank with flat slick rocks an mine hook up enough to break a rear axle shaft a 32 spline front output on a np205. Lets with a healthy 400 sbc and 4000-4500 lbs rig and a lot of skinny pedal :woot:

realize the 43 sx sticky chunks and wears much faster than non sticky.

You'll never hang with other rigs that have stickies if you don't have the too. Can be a real pain in the ass on trail rides in a group when there is one rig who keeps not making it.

Agreed to avoid the BFGs due to their beachball thin sidewalls. I sure don't regret ditching the reds and going with Treps instead.
