Man Im having a hard time going through the $ and fab its going to require to put some quality ( JJ's ) ends on the turd suspension. Im going to start purchasing them but right now. I just cant afford to put up the time and $ required to do it. Looks like el - cheapo rodends will be getting one more round of replacement on the ol Turd :-\

I can get the front tight and no noise for 58 bucks. Otherwise Im lookin at close to 200 in parts and alot of fab to do the upgrade. With the riding I want to do and have scheduled. I think Im gonna just keep on until late in the year then either go forth with the chassis build or upgrade when theres more down time.

I will start purchasing JJ's and accumulating the other small parts I need now though. ;D ( Regardless if they hit the Turd or the Chassis Ive decided that is what I will run. )

Wise decision my friend. If they are working for you, great. Accumulate for the next phase.

I am surprised how the turd has held up for what 3 years and a LOT of wheeling (most of which was done above and beyond the legal BAC) :spin: :flipoff1:

It is really just fab time at this point, you could of had JJ's all the way around with all the money you have put in 3-4 cheap heim joints a year :flipoff1:

Ill entertain your remarks... since i know you to be a man of factors.

Ive replaced the lowers up front 2.5 times ( upper side one more time) thats 6ea rodends.

and the uppers at the frame in the rear 2 times... thats 4ea rodends.

That would = 145.00 in the last 2 years.

Now if I were to replace 10 rodends with JJ's at retail, replace mounts to allow for them, add in tube as well to compensate for the size of JJ's..... youd quickly double that cost and that doesnt include, grinding discs to rid the mounts there, time welding wire, sheilding gas, material for new mounts and beer + food.

I think my fun to $ ratio is still doing pretty well considering. :flipoff1:

Don't forget to factor in all the time you have spent wrestling links, jam nuts, and all the reat of the BS to replace those 10 rodends. And the 1-2 times those rodends have failed on you in the woods and any associated damage and money they caused to other parts :flipoff1:

1 rodend failure... after doing the XRRA thing that I woulda never done hadnt others paid for me to enter.....

Replacing the ends takes very little effort, its just annoying.

I never said I would always run them. I just dont feel bad about it like Kelly and Co (YOU included ) try to make me feel. In fact, Kelly n Co kinda make me chuckle, they spent hella money on huge rodends that once worn, are trash. JJ's are cheaper, rebuildable, and just as durable. I feel confident once I make the change Ill be happy for years to come. 8) plus with the threaded shank, you can always pull and use them in another application. JJ's are just plain hard to beat is my point.

( and Im a cheap fugger thats gotten away with cheap ends for a damn long time.... thats my other point.. LOL )

Are any of you guys experiencing and noise or slack in them yet ? I really dont know what the life expectancy is on the larger rod ends, kinda be something Ive always been curious about but havent seen much mention of. ???

man, I'm still telling you, the chromo ones I can get (3/4"x3/4") won't get sloppy and are out of twice as good of material. I'll give them to you at cost, which is about a buck or 2 more than you have been paying for the ones I pay $7 for.
Ms. Parker don't know!

the ones I am talking about would never pull in half and would last the turd till it dies :flipper:

No I have ran those as well on the turd, they do last a long ass time though. ( they came from the SBlazer and then hit the Turd if that tells ya anything. )

Tryin to decide how many to buy.... I need to buy these and some drive flanges so I can go the rest the year wheeling like I have been and not wrenching. ( which I really havent done much of on the Turd either... its been good to me this year. ) ;D
