We just threw this run together just for something to do. We were going to explorer some more of the Ahtanum. We decided to see if we could make it to Strobach Mountain first before exploring places we had not been. It turned out to be just an all day Strobach Mountain Run.

Way Crazy airing down because the rocky trail was shaking them up.

The first obstacle was a tree across the trail. We saw where quads had gone around the tree so we went for it too. We had to back into the down tree to make the corner. It was a tight fit.

I came close to punchering my left front tire on a dead tree root so Way Crazy pulled the tree out of the way.

Next was Way Crazy's turn. He tried to fit going forward but he had to back into the down tree too.

Now forward though the tight hole.

Test Dummy's turn.

We started hitting patches of snow. The father we went the deeper the snow was. We came up to a long snow patch that was really deep. I plowed though a ways until it was off camber and got stuck. I buried the XJ pretty good. Way Crazy came in to pull my rig back.

Let the winching begin! I had Test Dummy drive my rig back so I could take some pictures.

Way Crazy pulled my rig back where my front tires were in the holes where the rear tires were.

I was able to get going forward again. Way Crazy followed me through and then Test Dummy got stuck in the same place I was stuck.

Way Crazy came back to pull the Test Rig out.

Test Dummy's rig didn't want to get back onto the trail and had to be winched a ways. Right as the rig was almost out, a tree got the rear window.

Test Dummy got a blanket and pushed the glass in so it wouldn't fall out on the trail.

After that snow area we were good to go for awhile. Here we go again, Deep snow! Way Crazy lead the way through this patch until here. It was Way Crazy's turn to be pulled out. Well a few times on the same snow mound.

Way Crazy was having too much fun!

He says he would let me try to go through. It worked out with my wheel base longer than his I didn't get stuck in his holes. We were back on our way. We had a lot more snow we had to run through. Test Dummy had to be winched up again.

Right after this point we had to turn around because of another tree across the trail.

On the way back down I got stuck in that first snow hole I had been winched out on the way up. Way Crazy winched me out again and then we had him go first so he could winch through and make new tracks. So that is what had to happen. I followed Way Crazy through. Test Dummy didn't make it.

Way Crazy winched Test Dummy's XJ back onto the trail. We now were ready to head for home. Way Crazy started having problems at this point. It started with his winch stopped working, then his alternator gave out and then he broke a rear u-joint. He had to drive his CJ5 back to my place in front wheel drive. The front dif is welded so it was hard to steer.

Our rigs may have some war wounds, but we had a great time. I can't wait to do it again!

Right on looks like there is a lot of snow up there still
Mainly the Snow is in the trees. The the areas in the sun that we run were mostly melted. I think we were in the last tree area before the top. (close to 613) Only if I had brought the chain saw we would of made it all the way up. If you go, you might want to bring a chain saw for all the down trees across the trail. The one that stopped us was about 5' off the ground so I couldn't go over or under it.

I found out today another group of rigs went up and turned around where the first tree was down across the trail. I am not for sure what size rigs all went, but I guess some wouldn't fit through the by pass. It was a very tight fit for us. Hella fun! :D
