I have the good head,s the 351 block and am thinking of buying a stroker kit and make a 418 or 427 windsor. Does anyone her have experience in this? Is there a roller cam set-up that will drop in a 351 block?

I'm thinking of a 12:1 due to running propane.

What cam? I plan to step up to a 2200-2400 convertor

School me before I end up broke with all the wrong parts

a good machine shop referal in my area would also be helpful

I'd have to suggest you contact DG machine down in Auburn. They build a lot of race engines for a lot of different teams including my uncle who swears by them.

What year of block? Mid 90's truck were a roller block and can use the factory roller lifters and spider. Older blocks can still use a roller cam, but you'll have to use the more expensive after market tie bar style roller lifters that drop in.

As for a shop, go talk to Bud at Bud's machine in Lakewood. He'll take what your heads can do, and what you want, and pick you a winning combo that will fit your budget.

It's on South Tacoma way just south of Bridgeport across the street from Aamco.

Most of the south sound racers use him.. he does excellent work. My Neighbor who races also has a bud built motor in is Camaro and Truck.. and they both get it.

This might put the hurt on your C4 though..

Get yourself a girdle for the mains. I have a nice 12 qt Hamburg oil pan for a 351w if you want also have some stock type rear sump pans as well.
