well not quite yet, but the doc is considering some overhaul, so I figured I'd start a build thread. I'll post some pics of work to date, but the thing I'm trying to figure out is whether to pull my blocks/spacers / rework my bumpstops, and what axles to build up/stuff under this thing.

WARNING: What you are about to watch is the product of the following...

Me wanting to flex my jeep for the first time since I cut my fenders F/R
Me wanting to check my bumpstop setup
No dirt, no mud, no snow, just rain, boredom, and some spare tires
My brother having his digital camera onhand
My brother later being even more bored and putting it to music :walkman:

:redneck: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yd7wQD_txu8

Seems to flex and then stop flexing just about perfect, making me hesitate pulling those blocks/spacers

yer the king of the tire pile:cheer: are those jeep wheels any good / avail?
need some to put studded tires on for the wifes ride

So I see a guy selling some D60's, call him, story is he's getting divorced, moving back east, needs money and is getting rid of all his toys. Lot's of stuff for sale including his D60 upgrade project. He had these built by Dean of Bent Metal fame. I called Dean and confirmed the details, he was surprised to hear they were up for sale as he'd just built them in the fall. The axles have never been run, no bracketry to even have ever been installed under a rig. Turns out the good doctor was in the right place at the right time. 8)

Specs:
D60 front
narrowed to 62" WMS
Knuckles turned 6* to match 6-8" lift
brand new Detroit Locker
brand new Yukon 5.38 gears
brand new Yukon 35 spline chromo shafts inner/outer
brand new Warn 35 spline hubs, 5x5.5
brand new rotors
hi steer arm

D60 rear
narrowed to 62" WMS
brand new Detroit Locker
brand new Yukon 5.38 gears
brand new Yukon 35 spline chromo shafts, 5x5.5
brand new calipers and brackets

will need:
front calipers
rear rotors
rear wheel studs
prolly beefier diff covers

other plans:
new tie rod/drag link
new 5x5.5 beadlock wheels
new tires, 38" ish flavor
Clayton Long Arm setup
sleeve the frame
prolly more sawzall ;)

you sir, are correct
(and I did NOT pay asking price :; )

I can just hear my unibody whimpering now . . .

I've been talking via email to Jason of TemperMental Racing fame, he's got some lasercut XJ frame sleeve kits that should be available next week, now if I could only get Crash to return my PM's, I could get some welding done. :flipoff:
