I'm looking into buying a stock samurai and came across an add for a 1984 Suzuki SJ410. I did a little research and found out that its kinda like the non-american samurai. But I was wondering if anybody had any knowledge about them and how they compare the the samurai and if the same parts and upgrades work for the sj410 as the samurai. Any help is apperciated.

Thanks

The Sj410 has a smaller engine actuall 1.0 rather than a 1.3. Also has smaller axles and narrower axles. Drum brake Tcase. Springs are mounted under the frame rather than outiside. They have a side draft carb stock. 4sp trans. They are actually fun little trucks but are different than a Samurai, most interior other than the dash will interchange as will the body.

And the T-case is a little higher in ratio; Mario and Kai used the SJ410 gears to build the original 4 to 1 Sami t-case gearsets.

I bought one out of a wrecking yard (although it was missing the tcase:mad: )
But all I really wanted out of it was the tcase and old style metal dash and the main part of the cab, the rest of it is trashed. I am swapping the tub to a samurai frame and running a light combo of samurai and sidekick drivetrain. More parts available for the samurais also.
