Dean Bulloch's new TC rig is one of my favorite rigs

Mine too. Can't wait for Carl's to be done next month so I can really see what one of these things does.

Carl's buggy is the highest HP buggy TC has built to date with a built all-aluminum 6.0 LS2....they say 550 hp

That Hi9 is gonna die

I have been wondering how strong those axles really are. I know the Diamond and spiderbuilt axles look killer, but how do the 9inch center sections hold up to High HP rigs that get thrashed. I know comp guys beat on them, but I mean the Poit-and-Pray method of driving.

Yeah that Hi-9 rear is gonna go boom. Bigwoody has about 400HP and has gone through 4 of them. But Carl may not drive like a madman, but I reckon with all that power he probably will!

I am going with a low pinion in the rear of mine. I will sacrifice some rear axle droop, but I cannot stand a RC ring gear in the back of a vehicle with any HP.

It may live forever, who knows, but that pinion is going to HAVE to go somewhere. I don't care what that dude at Hi9 says.

The guys that are breaking the Hi9's are running spools. Something has to give. There have been lots of side gears broken in ARBs and Detroits in those that run the Hi9. I believe (and it is only opinion) that the side gears become the weak link in there when the pinion is deflection on the coast side of those gears.

I think the Hi9 has its place and that is in the front IMO.

I agree 100%, HP anything belongs in the front
