I am about to go to Synthetic Rope. most likely from www.winchline.com . I believe my winch is a xd9000i with the older motor that they used on both xd9000i and 12,000 pound winches. What size and length would you go with?

They will help you with that. I suggest 3/8".

yeah they will, just call them. Go 3/8 and get it a little short so it does not have to be perfectly spooled to fit

I think your witch will take like 95ft of 3/8" line, same as mine. I put 75 foot on mine and it is much easier to deal with than my old jeep that had 95ft on it. Get the HD line protector, it is woven on and helps if you are using the winch for suspension work also. I would go with the sling hook or the guenabo hook. Thor at Winchline will help you out, cool dude

Matt did not mention it, but drop his name when ordering. They helped matt out price wise to promote the product. Let them know they are getting a return on their investment. Might even help you on price. They lowered mine a little, and threw in 2 hats and stickers for free.

I will tell them Matt sent me . I was thinking 75' at the most . 100' is too much to deal with. I will post back up what I go with. Thanks for the help.

Don't get too short. I have 65' of 3/8" on my comp winch.

If they don't give you a discount for mentioning Matt's name, contact Rockwild. He is setup as a dealer and can get a percentage off their listed prices.

I just noticed on the site with the 3/8 you can pick what lengths . I could go with 85' I guess. The online price was 294.00 with a shackle and HD winch protector. So I will call and post back up here what I get it for.

Yeah Thor is one of the owners. Mention Matt Overton and KOH, they helped me out with rope for the race and are a good parts sponsor. I am sure Thor will knock some off the price or at least hook you up with a few hats and stickers. Plus his name is Thor!

No joke, their family heritage goes back to viking's and **** . Very cool folk's spoke with them a few times when I worked for RockShop ! :dblthumb:

I spoke with Thor a few minutes ago and got all my stuff headed this way. I got the 80' 3/8 with HD Protector and with the safety thimble. I also got a 5' tree saver cause it looks better than the one I have. I am signing up to become a winchline dealer. Faxing in my business info today. So when I get prices I will post them up in the vendors section.
