T Case

As of today I have went through 4 NP 208's. I gotta have something different. It's a 87 half ton Chevy pickup with a 700R4 transmission. I would love to put a 205 in it but not sure what it would take. Any suggestions guys?

i think the 205 has the same input spline as a 203. If it does, i have an output shaft for a 700r4 to convert it. you're welcome to it if you can use it. call P for my phone#

find one off a 350 tranny. all 1980 chevy 1/2 tons
also some early 70's 4x4's, just NOT 74, all 203's that year

With the above said output shaft it should work right?

above said output? you don't have to change **** for output on tranny, just maybe length of it (portaband).
your 700 is 27 spline, same as a 350. It has more shaft sticking out than a 350 4wd. cut it. the 205 off a 350 is the only one that is 27 spline. It is racetrack pattern. All the circle 6 205's from 85 and up are 3.5" input bearing hole. You will be using a 1980 or early 70's 205 with factory 350 adapter and sleeve.
I don't know what rich has up his sleeve, but the output is 27 just different lengths.
You won't like the low side so high, but it works.

When you do find a 205 ive got an extra adapter for a 350/205 if you want it.

**** if you got the adapter now all you need is the input and sleeve/shifter to make a 4 speed case work. piecing it together will be expensive but can be done
