Taco axle with older 3rd member? will it fit ?

I got a Toyota Tacoma rear axle with 4.10s would like to install the older pickup 3rd member with 5.29s and a lockright will it fit? or how can I make it fit? would like the wider stance of the Taco

Thats like putting a dana 30 r/p into a dana 44. Just build the taco 3rd as you will get a stronger r/p along with the cross bracing on the taco 3rd has less deflection on the side bearings.
 
Never thought about the crossbracing in the taco 3rd scott...maybe you should sell the rear older axle and pick up a 5:29 ring/pinion for the taco 3rd...

Some are just the same as the old ones and some are an 8.4 inch (actually an 8) with a cap girdle.

Same spline count on the axleshafts tho.

thats good but I have a built up older third thats already to go just looking to use the wider axle,

not sure ,

so it may fit? or it may not?
 
just tryin to get this thing going without buyin more stuff , also the taco spiders are welded up
