Just wanting some opinons. The more I modify my suburban the less street legality it has. Full hydro, beadlocks, maybe even not having doors. I dont know. But today the lawyer girlfriend was on my a$$ about if its not street legal. Why do you even tag and insure it?She also said with it not being legal that if I'm in a wreck not matter what the case its automatically my fault. I like to drive it. If I need to take it somewhere I can just hop in it and go. But if i stop tagging it and drop the insurance I'd have to trailer it ,even if it a mile or two. :dunno:

Keep it tagged.. Just limit your street driving. You're in Alabama, you really think they are gonna **** wit ya? :flipoff1: thumb.gif

I would keep it tagged and insurance for sure. Bama does not inspect vehicles that change hands within the state

Im going to. Just was thinking about tht one gung-ho cop that would stop me just to see what he could find. Also kinda pissed at her for getting on my ass about it out of the blue. Just venting a little.

Keep the tag and insurance, I don't think you will have any problems. Hell me and Daniel have drove my jeep around town before.

Me and you drove coles jeep to the parts store that day and there was a state trooper behind us for a little while. :o Remember.
Hell yeah !!!!!!!!!!!! I forgot all about that. I mean I only drive from home to your house moms or t-sup

Hmm, in my area it seems like most rigs are not street legal. It can be a pain to maintain taillights, inspection, etc. so they just drop the insurance and trailer it.

Personally, I don't have much of a choice. My rig doesn't have tail lights, fenders, title, etc.

I called my insurance guy today. Asked him about the whole if Im in a wreck and no matter what since my truck isnt "legal" is it automatically my fault. He said no unless it can be proven that the "upgraded part" was the cause of the wreck. He pretty much told me that the insurance would cover like its a stock truck.

i don't think many cops would give you a hard time about bead locks or hydro steer. most of them don't even know what that stuff is. the ones who do know about that stuff, probably only know because that are in to offroading themselves. i would only worry about one of those pissy troopers or DOT guys.

Would yo insure this guy?

If you end up doing this in Alabama you can pay the $15.00 for a helping school tag and get it personalized for free. Everything I own except my trailer has personalized tags. thumb.gif
