Tarps for your rigs.....help

I'm not fortunate enough to park my crawler in a garage or even under an overhang so I'm forced to use a tarp while its on the trailer.

The first tarp I got was from Tractor Supply and it lasted maybe 3 to 4 months.

Picked up another heavy duty tarp at Walmart and now it's starting to tear and fade and become brittle.

So at $20 each I've got 40 invested into piece of crap tarps. Those of you that are using a tarp what are you using that's holding up?

You can almost build a little pole shed carport for what a "good" tarp costs.

McMaster Carr has a good selection of heavy duty tarps of different construction.

I use to get flame retardant, heavy tarps from mytarp.com to resell to a factory I deal with, they have good prices and are very good tarps.

Look at the shape and size of the vehicle and buy a good car cover.

You could just give me the 'stang and then park the trail rig in the dry.

I'm just glad my better half doesn't like to park in the garage. I'd be in the same boat.

Can you use your winch to suck it down and drive it in? Normally the door is the lowest part so just suck it down tight and drive in then raise it up

I might give that a shot...but the door was as low as alota ducting work inside. It's an older house with an unfinished basement.

What about the combo of suck down winch and letting all the air out of the tires?

Yea get a canvas tarp 8x10 covers my junk good enough on overnighters but I would go 10x12 if it stayed outside. I got mine at Northern Tool for $50 and it is tough!!!

If you live in cotton country u can ask around some farmers may still have cotton module tarps left over after swapping to round bales. I been using half of a cotton module tarp for years now but my rig dosnt sit under it for months at a time anymore unless I have both bays in my shop taken up with projects. The formed end of the tarp tucked behind the tires helps keep it from blowing everywhere with just the other end tied down snug.

I ride every weekend....that's alota airin' down and up.

Ill give this a look and try. Price seems better than the car covers I was looking at. However. ..you prolly get what you pay for in this category.

I got two tarps from Home Depot one covers the firewood and it's been there for years no tears no fading or nothing

Mines got corbeuo seats as you know but I've also got the seat covers for them also with scotch guard on them but if I leave it out which I do a lot of the time I just cover up the seats with a cheap blue tarp. But me and Michael are going to cut it all apart and cut the rear frame off and cut the windshield and what's left of the body and do a firewall buggy out of it. But then if I leave it out I'll have to get a bigger tarp lol.

Bill board vinal are pretty thick and would last a while. If you get a 14x48 you could cut it in half and have 2. One side will be white or black so you would not have to see the advertisement on it. If you live close to a Lamar advertising they normally keep a **** load of old ones. Atleast Decatur did while I worked there. Just call them if ones close they will normally give them away

I still run a windshield in the Jeep and keep a safari top on it and then a cloth cab cover over that. The Safari top is very easy to remove and install. It even stays in the Jeep if there is a chance of rain.
The safari top is about $60 or less it yours is a 2 seater. Cab covers start at about $40. I park to the front end uphill most of the time and the rain sheds right off the back. The cover keeps any rain, leaves or pests from getting in on the sides. Keeps my corbeau seat dry without issue. I even bring the cover on overnight rides to keep the morning dew off. It would be a little over $100 but is very versatile.
