I am thinking of putting a tbi set up on my 360. has anyone done this with stock gm stuff? I noticed the intake adapter is only 40 bucks and I have a throttle body, wiring harness , and most of the sensors I can just adapt onto the motor. Just need to pick up a computer at a wrecking yard. I just wonder if anyone has modified the distributor to make it work? that is where I am a little lost.

Not to a 360, but I did it to an inline 6. real easy to do once you have all the parts, and you'll never go back to a carb.

WTH are you building now:eeek:

Hey jim I am thinking about doing it to the red devil. I am keeping it to have something for day runs. I have all the parts exept the distributor. I just hae to figure out how to hook it up is all. Besides if I find the right deal on a yj or cj7 I will have a 360 t18 dana 20 with 65in wide d44 front and d60 rear and 37s all ready to go. If it was fuel inj. all the better.

Thanks joop, what style of distributor did you use? Was there already an amc or chrysler one that worked with the tbi? I plan on using the gm set up and have been told it whould work with the stock cam this motor has. I do like the gm tbi my YJ I sold had it on the 95 350 I installed in it. I dont want to go back to a carb that is fo sho!

I used my stock chrylser dist. Just modified it so it no longer had vacuum advance.

That top thread is a mopar dist but there are others on the main page. You could also do a fuel only system but I would find a way to make a dist work if it were me.

thanks rick. I will do some more reading on the top thread. Looks perty cheap to do.

Post up when you get this figured out, years ago I bought a system from Howell. It's fuel only, and it might be worth my time to have the dist. tied in.
