Its monday so Im by myself at the shop so I got nobody to bounce ideas off of. Just did a Jasper Longblock in a 92 cherokee. I have a no start condidtion. I have fuel, noid(injector pulse), spark, compression. Im not sure whats going on. I've checked my distributor 5 times now, setting it on tdc. For shits and giggles I replaced the crank sensor. If I unplug the crank sensor I obviously have no spark. Anyway Im at a loss at the moment. Any of you guys got an idea please shoot my a call.
Thanks
Gavin

Does it even try (backfire, buck, etc..)? Seems to me when you set these distributors, you have to line up the tail end of the rotor with the contact in the cap for it to be close enough to start....

So dam near set it where tou would think it was a tooth off? It has popped a couple times like it wants to start. It cranks awesome. Does not backfire or anything weird like that.

Yes. The 4.0 doesn't set right at the beginning of #1 on TDC like a normal motor. Any service manual outlines the procedure. I can fax/email it to you if you don't have it.

Please do. My informaton here is saying to set it right on 1. Our fax here is 253 630 5781.

Thanks John

Even after moving it forward a bit no start. On the crank. Is the first notch 0 or the 2nd. It looks like the second and that's where I'm baseing TDC off of.

After sleeping on it over night. I came in this morning an unplugged the temp sensor. Thing fired right up. Thanks John and Kevin because I did have the distributor off one tooth.
