WE need to get our SFWDA membership in order. We need to form a strong alliance wiht them to fight any closure. SFWDA met with these people last year and made changes specifically to appease these people. SFWDA complied with their criteria to improve trails, close camping areas, and TEMPORARILY close some trails. Now,these people don't want to live up to their end of the bargain. We NEED to volunteer to do whatever is necessary to preserve our PUBLIC lands for the public and not for some special interest group that can't keep their word.

I agree and Im open to anything suggested that we can do to help.

Im sorry I dont know specifics on what was arranged, what was agreed on and what has or has not been enforced there. It seems that Tellico is catching alot of heat though, and that is a real bad sign for wheelers.

Has SFWDA stated or asked for any specific efforts to be made ?

This "Intent to Sue" is a sixty day notice of intent. The Forest Service could cave easily (read cheaper) and avoid suit by closing the entire area within those sixty days. We may need to reschedule our trip.

Just read about it, that is BS. I mean I see there point and it is valid, but damn it would suck to close it. I am in for helping in anyway possible.
