If I'm running a stock 195deg thermostat what should I run for a temp switch to turn on the fan. I found a switch that is 200deg on and 185 off. Just not sure on the right temp range. I'm going to wire the low side of the fan through a thermo control and just a toggle for the high side in case she gets hot. That way I have a redundant back up and running 2 30a relays to spread the load.

Thanks, Chad

Your safe as long as you run the temp switch above the t-stat temp--thats how mine is setup. All you need to do is run one relay and use the switch to also toggle the relay like the temp switch would. thats how mine has been for a number of years. The only difference is I use the switch to turn it off if I wish (deep water holes).

Thanks Crash,
Just needed confermation. My fan has 2 power wires. Power to either one is low speed and power to both is high. That's why I want to run 2 relays, if there is a problem with a sw or relay I still have 1 separate leg to run off of. I can also use 2 40a relays and be plenty safe on amperage w/o going to a big cont duty relay like guys running the taurus fans.

Taurus fan?

Yeah, I did a bunch of reading and it seems on startup they draw a ton. Plus, I didn't have room since I set my engine too far forward. I like what I have 2100cfm free flow 17" that fits perfect. I think I'm set as long as I can figure out why it won't start.

I run a Borg Warner, TFS8. I think it's on at like 210 and off at 190, seems to work perfect with my 195* t-stat.

No--I run a spal fan. If you run a taurus fan a 30amp relay won't last.

Even with a 40 amp relay I was having issues. I just switched to a 16" electric fan, no issues so far, but also haven't been wheeling :booo:

Did you get this locally John??
