As the title says
I am running a full body YJ on rocks, LQ9 6.0, TH-350 with a stock stall, reverse manual valve body. 2 extra quart Deral pan, with cooling tubes run through it with trans sensor in the side of the pan. Deral external fan cooler.
It will get up to 230 on a regular basis. Even running flat ground for periods of time, it gets preaty warm. Running Castrol Blue fluid.
I was running a SBC 355 when I built the rig, put in this tranny I had built from my tranny builder. It has done this from the start. Had prob 6 rides on it.
When I pulled it out to put in the 6.0 I pulled the tranny an took it back to the builder for him to go through it, (told him what it was doing) an to freshen it up. Reinstalled with new engine an same thing.
Any body have any idea what is going on? Cooler gets preaty warm, so I know it is flowing, but just doesnt feel like no 230 deg. Thanks for the help.

Check with a different gauge.
I had a bad gauge indicating the same thing..

Ill check that. Autometer seems to suck any more.

What style gauge? I was planning on ordering autometer procomp gauges for mine after I heard good reviews about autometer.

Call Ed at PSC. He was telling me at Hawk Pride once how the placement is the sensor made a major difference in the gauge reading. More looking for a climb over the "normal". Good guy, call him and pick his brain.

I put my sensor in the pressure port on my th400, it's supposed to be a more accurate place to read the temp

Where are most people putting there sensor? I would think the pan would be a good place where the factory puts the bung for the sensor screws into. Am I wrong? Just trying to see what other people are doing.
Yes I will call Ed. Thanks
