I had one built for a CJ I had with a small block 400 and 1800 stall. Took it out the first ride did what your is doing, caught it on fire probably 5 times that wknd at Tellico. Came home tore the tranny out thinking it was to much stall and letting it heat up to much, found a torn gasket under the valve body. Went through the trans again, this time myself. Put it back together and never did it again. But I also didn't reuse the stall. But there are tons of rigs with very high stalls out there, as long as u r not "stalling" it constantly your temp shouldn't get to crazy.Hope this helps.
