What it is : Aftermarket replacement bell housing system to replace cracked , weak or fatigued ( or plan broke off ) factory bellhousing on factory transmissions. Claims to be 600 times stronger than stock and to be honest, I dont doubt that claim one bit. This thing is pure beefcake and WAY larger then the factory bellhousing area on a stock TH350.

How it works : Basically you "remove" the bellhousing area forward of the transmission pump. Mine has for the most part removed itself but I do need to cut and clear the rough spots that didnt not "detach" them selfs during my particular trannys structural failure. The UltraBell comes supplied with the hardware neccasary to bolt it to the face of the pump and thus mount it after all cuts have been made.

Seems pretty simple, I ll throw a few pics up to show you just how beefy badass this thing is !!

(PS> its noted that this unit is for use with 11" or smaller Gm torque converter. A fact I only learned after purchasing it, but thankfully a few of our own Forum members had my back , as i had traded a stocker for the 10" my tranny had when I purchased it to Blacksheep which was willing to trade back. With shipping costs and plain mess of fluid prone tq converters "kid rock" or "Bradass" as i like to call him happened to have one as well and thanks to MMORV being located somewhat in between him and I Ill be headed that way to pick itup this weekend as he is headed there for other business as well. ..... P got lucky is what that amounts to thumb.gif )

Ill also throw it out there, I ordered mine through cambellenterprises out of Va for 227.00 after lookin around a little bit. It took some calls to get a real live person but once i did they were very helpful and they did ship same day and i got it in two days ground shipping. sa-weeeeeeeeeeeeeet

Its done and I lolly gagged and took alot of pics and all that mess... unfortunately my cell/ web signal isnt doing so hot and its plain painful to load pics right now so Ill do that portion of the post tommorow if anyone is interested.

Its a simple straight forward job. Im real happy I decided to go this route as i feel very comfortable about the product and my needs being a great match . Also, the nature of the product is such that if i do have any further tranny issue and go with another case, I can easily transfer it to the other tranny.

Im sitting here next to a UltraBell TH350 with a TCI full manual valvebody, and AA TH350/D300 adapter.....all setup and ready to go back in the rig once I hook up with Bradass/Randy for the tq converter seriously , how cool is that !! drool thumb.gif

It must really be easy to put on for you to recieve it and have it put on in the same day.

Ok so I started cutting off the remains of the "stock" TH350... heres the first go around of cutting... Mine being broke and the instructions stating not to let the super bell touch any of the stock tranny case, it wasnt hard to find a place to start. I just tried to parellel cut were it had already self detached.

Here it is with broken parts removed...

The only spot that took a little time to "clearance was the bottom edges of the case, being very careful not to take and of the lip off were the pan and gasket seal up... I shaved down a good bit of the lip on the front of the case before you get to the pump and also ground down two casting "humps" that would not allow the UltraBell to mount proper.

Here you can see one cast hump partially removed and the other for reference...

After I got that all cleared off I double checked that all my "openings" were plugged and what not then I blew the alum dust off the tranny prior to pulling the pump bolts out.

There are small machined surfaces were orings go on the back side of the Ultrabell and it said put Transgel on them to hold them in place... I didnt have that or even know what it was..

SO I put the orings in place then slide the hardware through them so they wouldnt get cut by the threads or fall off during install , I put the lock tite on and put it up into place. This method worked well, the orings held the bolts in place and since they are shanked bolts no orings got damaged ...

Says to torque to 20ft lbs... that didnt feel real great so i went to 24ft lbs laughing1 ( Im gay... )

And walla... installed ready to put back in the rig !! :afro:

*** Technically and going by the instructions it does say to remove the pump during the final grind fitting process, I personally saw no real reason to do this unless your worried about hitting something with the grinder or dont have the output shaft and pump seal covered up. I didnt remove mine , I did knick one of the stocker bolts .. but they arent reused anyway so no blood no foul IMO.

Ill give it a difficulty rating 1 outta 5 beers. Very simple and straight forward. Im happy with my purchase. thumb.gif

Did you fix it where the bolt was stripped out on the back side?
If not this would be a great time to do it.

I havent... your exactly right. I thought about sloppin the JB weld on it last night , it doesnt appear to have craked or moved any further which is kinda crazy considering the bellhousing area let go... :dunno:

Looks good :drinkers:

Damn, awesome that you could fix/beef without major time/money involved! thumb.gif

I really think that is the coolest thing about this product... I will not ever worry about the bellhousing again for one thing, but the fact I didnt have to pay someone to swap guts / get a nother tranny case and deal with all that mess made it cost effect just as much as a huge upgrade. Granted I got off easy $$ wise with a tq converter. But Im real stoked I decided to go this route.

Im glad Jimbo had mentioned he was running one of these months ago, I wouldnt have even heard of this thing if it werent for the input on this site. You learn something err day ! thumb.gif

P glad I could help with an idea. if the rear bolt is stripped out go ahead and slap some helicoils in the back the sell a kit for cheap at the zone or oreilly's

It is not stripped it is almost brke off where the threads are. The more you tighten the wider the gap gets. It needs to be welded for his situation.
