how bad is it bent, could it have been from the truss when you welded it? not trying to be the ****, just wondering

Playing devils advocate...

Its passable the seller did not know it was bent. Seen that happen a time or 2.

What gets me, you would have noticed a problem when you pulled the axles out of it. Now I suspect that maybe it got bent from welding the truss to it--because if not done properly it could have easily caused it to bend...

It sucks though either way...

Bent axles are more common then many people think. I think finding a straight one is less common than bent......
Most people assume thiers is straight and most are wrong.:booo:

no, it is possible that he was not aware of it.and if so im the dumb ass.as far as the welding of the truss.i did it per recomendations and dont believe that is the reason.new to this game.but did notice the drivers birf was a bit difficult to remove upon teardown.anyhow just anxious to get it up in the woods again.know where i can pick up a housing any help appreciated chuck.

i KNOW mine is bent:mad:

question.....how to determine if one is straight? ive got a spare housing, but i dont want to start building to find out its bent too.

installing the birfs will be a first for me,but installing axles is not.you can look up the tube and see the axle is not contacting the axle seal on the top side, the tube is bent.

I'm guessing you are talking about a toyota front axle? Newsflash - they are all bent. That's what happens when you have a housing made out of tuna cans.

Bent axles are more common that you would think, I've seen hundred's, even some brand new in the box housings are not straight.

What were the hints it's a Toyota? The price? Or just the fact that it's bent?:eeek:

Using the term "straight axle". Common for toy guys to use that term. Next was the "cromo axles"--another term most toy guys use when dealing with bobby's birfs :awesomework:

Actually, after his thread title, I read it as he was looking for a straight (not bent) axle.
