Well after the trail work party I had a leak on the front output seal on the STaK's box. Well I called and STaK's sent me a BRAND NEW BOX. And since I was in there anyhow I thought I would try clocking the t-case a little if I could. Well I could BUT!! The front driveshaft was hitting the rear cooler line. Well as most will remember some where along the way I managed to crack the tranny housing around the rear cooler port.
At the same time before I out about the cracked case I also figured out I had bent the ends of the shifter rods. Not because it was a fault of STaK's but because I hadn't gotten the linkage adjusted right.
Well STaK's sent me shifter rails, gaskets & o-rings for FREE and even picked up the shipping.!! :cheer:
So just to show the beef of the case here is one more picture.
Now since others just like me was having issues with the old shifters. So they had been working on some new designs. Here is what they came up with.
I sent the shifter out and had it powder coated black. Once I had the transmission & shifter back I was ready to start putting things back together.
Because this was a new design I wanted to mock up the shifters before I installed the tranny/t-case in the Jeep. I am glad I did because it sure made things EASIER.
So between taking care of a 4 year old and going to doctor appts I have been trying to find time to work on the Jeep. Well this is a 3 day weekend and the little one has gone to her moms.
I am ready to but the tranny/t-case combo under the Jeep.
Back up under the Jeep & bolted up to the engine. It actually went faster doing this as a combo.
So the new sifter from down below.
And then from in the interior.
So today I hope to get the rest of the tranny/t-case stuff finished off. (driveshafts, skid plate, linkage adjust) Then I'll start on all the other little stuff that needs to be done. I have a rubber mat that I am going to install. I got it from JC Whitney and I am hoping it will cut down on the heat coming thru the floorboard. I have some windshield frame sliders to put on, grill inserts, & hood vents also. Then it is time to start working on the stereo.
So I'll keep everyone posted on how things are going.
