Hi folks,

I've been getting lots of emails about harness work and I figured that I'd just throw some details down on the forum here so guys know what the deal is.

I work in an upgrader here in Fort McMurray, Alberta, Canada (80+hrs a week sometimes) so I don't always have a lot of spare time to fiddle with this kind of stuff. I like playing with wiring, but I definitely can't do this on the cheap for everyone. Eddie had sent his harness away to be re-worked by some fella in Kansas and got burned by him. 4 months later his harness came back all ripped apart with broken connectors, missing wires etc and he was out the money he'd paid to get it done. I saw his post asking for help on Pirate (I go by SierraClassic there) and felt bad for him so I decided to take his harness on and get him fixed up properly for the cost of parts and shipping. Unfortunately I can't run the same deal for everyone or I'd have a lineup 25 guys long to get harnesses done and have absolutely no time to do anything for myself.

If folks want harnesses done, I'm going to have to ask a similar price to what the vendors ask for to make it worth my time. I'm asking $600 for a harness including return shipping. For that money you'll have your harness completely bared, all excess wiring removed (for emissions systems, transmission wiring or whatever you want), wiring re-routed / moved within reasonable reach of the existing wiring (I don't have the materials needed to make entirely new harnesses with extended lengths), a small sealed Bussman fuse block / relay center installed and a connector added which will be tied into your vehicle's existing wiring harness. I'll include wiring pin outs and basic connection information for the labelled wires that need to be hooked up for stand alone operation. If you are installing your engine into another production vehicle I can look up wire colors / locations for most of the wiring connection points on your vehicle at no additional cost (I can provide diagrams as well). I can help with some instrumentation hookups here and there as well on more common vehicles but I can't promise to be able to solve them all.

For the cost of an EFI Live license and lunch for me ($150) I can re-flash your PCM to delete anti-theft, emissions systems, set tire / gearing sizes and ratios, adjust speedometer and tachometer outputs etc. I do not offer any kind of performance tuning options. I simply don't have the experience to be doing that for other people's vehicles. I'd highly recommend Josh West at Team 208 Motorsports for performance tuning if that is something you are looking for. He also offers wiring harnesses modifications but does this full time and has quick turnaround times compared to me and has very good quality.

I'd rather not do this stuff full time, but if folks want to make it worth my time I'm available.

Russell
