a buddy of mine is looking a for a truck to pull his rig with and is looking toward a dually, mainly because his rig is frickin huge and needs a big trailer to haul it. we found this truck sorta local to us, but it has 248,000 miles on it. the guy bought it new in July 06 and we have the service records of almost every oil change it got (at least at that dealer). The guy used it to haul high end cars across the country one at a time on a flat deck trailer, there are no holes in the bed or in the frame from fifth wheel or goose neck mounts, so it was bumper pulled. The guy apparently was a bigger guy according to the salesman (which they all know him since he has bought his last 5-6 trucks from them), but you can not tell the seats have even been sat in, they are like brand new. After driving it today, I would not hesitate to buy this truck, but I dont want to help talk his wife into this thing and then something go wrong with it. Is there anything I should look for on these trucks?
BTW it is 06 quad cab dually 2wd HO 6 speed w/ exhaust brake 248,000 miles can be bought for 13,250 out the door good price? I swear if you were to look at this truck you would never know it has a 1/4 million miles on it...LOL

OFF TOPIC.....lol...while we were there we got to check out the new Dodge Challenger, holy **** that thing is badass. after we got done with the test drive of that cummins, we were talkin with the salesman about checkin it out and he offered for us to test drive it. WOW, pretty impressive car to say the least. I drove #446 of 6400 pretty damn cool in my book.

Truck looks really good. Man that guy must have lived on the road!! Is the Dealership offering any kind of Warranty with the truck?

Surf a Dodge forum and see if you can get the warranty/service repair report. I did that when I bought my F250, Ford uses an Oasis report. A lot of the forums have mechanics that surf them and if you provide the vin they can run it. It gives all of the details every time it was brought in. Very good information to have...

the dealership gave us the service report. it shows other stuff on there other than the oil changes/trans service/rear end service, most likely warranty work.

At those miles in such a short time, i would have thought the owner would have a detailed maintenance log.
Every hotshot driver I know not only keeps a very detailed log on their work truck, but it carries over into their personal lives.

I wouldn't be scared of that truck at those miles, but the price seems steep to me at those miles. I'd think $9-10k max. Just my opinion.

i just looked at book value on KBB and NADA, it is showing 26-27k, even with those miles.
wow really? KBB gets way off when its out of scope so to speak.

Dude you can damn near buy a brand new diesel for $27k these days

My local dealer is $20k off sticker, and 0% for 66 months now. And they have had the same White LTZ crewcab dually sitting for 60-90 days now out front. Sticker $58k, man I want it.....but I dont want a note. Just dreamin'!

I worked at a dealership once upon a time, therefore I do not trust a lot of what they say. I would still recommend getting a tech to run a full report. thumb.gif

hmmmm...I will see what I can come up with. I am still very impressed with how clean that truck is. can anyone do a carfax report?
