So I need some suggestions for some good, classic rock songs from the 80's and early 90's, maybe even the 70s! I'm talkin' early Bon Jovi or Guns N Roses type stuff. What are some of your favorites? Hook me up guys!

I've been listening to a lot of Led Zepplin lately. Got the box set a while back and have started to get reaquainted with all my shop time lately.

The next is a lot of Red Dirt Country/Southern Rock. Like Shooter Jennings, Randy Rogers Band, Jason Aldean, Cross Canadian Ragweed.

With crews like Linkin Park slowing down on the speed of their music I've almost stopped listening to the Alt Rock speed stuff. That and the over played Nickleback anything bullshit.

Going to go see High School Ceaser tomorrow night with Hank Cash. But thats Texas rock, and I think thats 4-5 years away from being accepted elsewhere.

2 songs you need though and you'll love me later:
Ani Difranco "Untouchable Face"
Rodney Carrington "Show 'em to me"

Hit me up with some southern rock song titles... 8)

I've heard a lot about Shooter Jennings, never heard a song though.

Everything off Shooter Jennings "Electric Rodeo" is good except Aligator Stomp. Off his previous album I really only like 4th of July.

But "It aint easy", "Black Majic", "Hair of the Dog", Goin' to Carolina" would be the best 4 on that album.

I also like Drive By Truckers and they are southern rock, like Southern Culture on the Skids.

And a song I got stuck in my head at dinner tonight, haven't heard it in months and it just popped in while reading a seafood menu, Jimmy Buffett "Bama Breeze"

Get some Johnny Cash, I think you would like it. Live at Folsom Prison and American IV are my two favorite records of his.

Checked into Shooter Jennings... Good stuff. "Gone to Carolina" is pretty decent. 8) Not a Johnny Cash fan honestly. I've heard a lot of his stuff, a little too "old country" maybe? I'dunno...

I seem to be alone in this, but I really like Chevelle. I know they're not 'classic rock' but they're pretty good. They just put out a new cd, "Vena Sera." I've been switching between their new and old stuff for the last month. Just a thought. :-X

I like these threads, it allows my to widen the music on the system. I am downloading those (that I did not have now). Keep them coming. Rickey, you are welcome to clone my laptop, if you have a 30+ gig iPod. Or you can select artists or songs if smaller. i have done that to several iPods. This should take me close to 6,500 songs.

american woman: the who or the guess who
black betty: ram jam ("she's from birminham...bam a lam way down in alabam....bam a lam lord she shakin that thing....bam a lam lord she makes me sing") :D a must for you 'hamites
the breeze: lynrd skynrd
bring it on home: led zepplin
fame: david bowie
free for all: ted nugent ("when in doubt I whip it out....I got me a rock'n'roll band its a free for all") :spin:

just off the top of my head if you want 70's classic stuff

80's/90's, hmm. too many to list.
we're not gonna take it: twisted sister
I'm drawing a blank, all I have is metallica seek and destroy opening chord in my head, no help. I'll come back to it.

I asked for the led zepplin collection box set for christmas '98 when I was at Kstate the first time. mom nixed that, it was $110. how much is it now? I still love the zep other than the 4 songs they play on the rock ::)
lemon song: zep ("squeeze squeeze squeeze me baby, 'til the juice runs down my leg" ) :spin:

Give American IV a try that is one of the last albums before he died. He covers NIN and Sting, good music not very country at all.

Thanks John, might have to look through your laptop next time you have it out. 8) I've got the first ipod ever made from back in the 80s I believe, so I think it's only like 16gig. ;D

Okay, Kelly wins at this thread so far. ;D I just DL'd most of what he listed, very nice. (We need a two thumbs up/borat smiley!)

Dan Dubose sent me this today, talk about timing!
