I'm building a toyota that I want to drive to the trails. I need to run a 35 inch tire but am not sure what tire is best for minimal road use yet still good in the woods. Let the deliberation begin.....

What kinds of trails and terrain do you ride on?
I like the Goodyear MTR for a good all around tire.

I had a set of 35x12.50x15 **** cepek mud country on my tj and i loved them. Not to loud on the road and they wore evenly. I was on the road 75% of the time with them. Hope this helps

There are two kinds of tires in the four wheeling world....BFG and Free if they are not BFG then they need to be free.

I'd buy some BFG Blue label Krawlers and call it a day.

Running 15 inch wheels. I don't think they are making the ltb's in my size as if right now.

Tons of newer factory 17in Yota pull off wheels out there right now for pretty cheap. Plus in 10-15yrs all the 15s will be extinct... Can't beat the price for a true 35" swamper

I ran a set of Mickey Thompson MTZs and they did great on the road and trail, wore good too. Pretty much as long as it says TSL on the sidewall you'll be good.

I run 38" Toyo MT Open Country's, they ate awesome on the road and the rocks. I think they are the Swiss Army knife of tires. They hook and go. My second choice would be the Goodyear MTR'S. I don't think you could go wrong with ether tire, unless your doing a lot of mud ridding then BOGGERS!!!!

I have ALWAYS ran super swampers,
DD on 34 LTBs in high school (when they first came out)
then 36 Irocks, 35 LTBs, 39.5 Irocks, 36 TSLs, 38 SX, 38.5 SX

LTBs are heavy! and extremetly tough

I got some 35 MTRs for the new fishing truck, they are excellent on the road, and seem decent on the trail (had em out 3-4 times). No complaints. They are cheap here: http://www.treaddepot.com/tire/750712326.html $235/ea + $80 rebate

Here is a new 35 MTR next to a beat down 36 TSL. Both are about 34"...

On my tj I have mtr's in 35's and they do great on the street and trail. I also have stickies on my other tj and I think the mrts does a fantastic job for both rolls.

I ran 35" MTZs on my TJ for about 2 years. loved them tares. I wish I could have run a set of KM2s but I sold the jeep and got a real toy by that time.
