Well I decided to groove up my old TSLs, they are over half wore out and they SUCKED at a sloppy Hale Mountain ride :o

so it was time to try and groove some NEW LIFE into them.......

Heres the iron that I used......

The iron is $70.00 from PRC (Precision Race Cars) in Douglasville Ga. 770-942-7682 the iron comes with a skinny #4 cut head,I also bought a #6 and #10 head and blades as well

heres the tired tire

heres the center lugs grooved with the #10 cut head....

Then it was time for a break.....

and to put REAL BOLTS in place of the cheesy flat head set screws......

Next the #6 cut head got put in and the side lugs got sliced on....

And then 2 monsters and several budweisers later I was done....

The before and after really seems to be a big difference......

Tire is more opened up on the center lugs with more biting/gripping edges, and the side lugs have a new sharp edge put back on them.

;D

Nice! thumb.gif

You should be able to tell a big dierence. Grooving the bigger TSL's seems to help a lot on the light weight rigs.

Looks good Scott. We need to hook up and do some riding when i get my buggy done got several of us not too far from you. I'm in fayetteville Georgia. I have the same groover and also got one of the higher dollar ones with variable heat ranges and instant heat. Next time you want to do some tires let me know and I'll bring it to help out and drink a few cold ones. thumb.gif

I like Bamaboys style got a few threads showing. You ant grooving if you ant showing threads ;D ;D
