So what is required to remove the passengerside airbag? One is it legal? Two do they come out without to much trouble?
Now your thinking why? Well I was thinking about using the space for sound equipment and mount CB in dash there. Haven't talked to anyone yet, thought I would get some feedback here for starters.

A similar question has been posted prior on another board. Lotsa guys gave answers to the similar question, but I answered this way.

Has anyone removed the passenger Airbag from there TJ. If so how? I would like to remove mine so my son could ride with me when there is no back seat in the Jeep.

Thanks,

Hate to be the one to say it, but leave the fuse alone, and put the kid in the back seat. Chrysler built it without a 'off' switch for a reason. You want to pull the fuse to protect the kid, but in reality he's the safest in the back seat. Since it's a TJ, it's valuable, and at 70 mph, it's a street driven rig, so do the right thing and buckle him in the back. Make it a two seater when he weighs like 70 pounds or more. Sure enough, you pull the switch/fuse and someone else dies because the airbag was intentionally deactivated by you, then you won't have a house, or bank account, or any life at all. If the guilt don't get you, the lawyers will.

edit... I know you said 'when the back seats no in it' but you just gotta leave it there for a while, and only when the kids riding with you.

Now I know this is a slightly different circumstance, but what would you do if you did have a passanger and wrecked?

how about removing my drivers side airbag :flipoff: no one else drives my rig, and if i die, i shouldnt still have a house or anything. :kissmyass:

And it's not about safety! Because my YJ ain't got none of that fancy stuff. It's about our wonderful litegeous(sp) society.
