I'm considering getting RCVs for my HP30. I have Alloy USA ball joints and the lower ball joints sticks up quite a bit. From what I've seen, the clearance between the lower ball joint and the boot is very tight. Has anyone run this combo?

It only mentions grinding where the unit bearing bolts are located. Nothing about the lower ball joint.

This is a friends Rubicon 44 with RCVs (not sure what brand ball joints)

Then how tall the Alloy USA ball joint sticks up on my HP30.

Thanks! Talked to you the other day on FB Messenger after I had posted this thread and got the info I needed from you.

I have a hp 44 and had to cut the excess bolt sticking up through the ball joint and grind part of the inner c and knuckle for the bell to fit in. It will teach you some cuss words but worth it.

Any tricks to getting the bell on?

I found cussing like sailor and throwing a hammer across the shop helps.

No **** though you have to hold your mouth just right and it goes on. JohnG told me that if you take a ziptie and put it between the boot and the bell it makes the boot go on easier and that helped a ton. I love my RCV's but i HATE doing anything where i have to take them apart.
