I am looking for advice. I have a 2003 TJ Rubicon without the original suspension (stolen along with the transfer case). To make a daily driver out of it, I installed a TJ Sport transfer case and suspension. However, the coil springs are from a stock 2006 TJ Unlimited. The problem

Install a fixed heavy duty output in the transfercase. Pull a cherokee front driveline and have it shortened. Or shorten it yourself. That will take care of your vibration problem.

Slip yoke eliminator and a cv driveshaft/ and you can adjust the pinion angle with adjustable control arms

Thanks for the input... So now I search for SYI, Cherokee Front Driveline, and Adjustable Lower Control Arms (if necessary).

Thanks, I have spacers from a cj T/C drop that will work.

Thanks again Guys for the advice. The TJ suspension with various options baffels me a bit.

are you sure that the pinion is pointing 6 degrees upward to much. or do you mean that the pinion has to be raised 6 degrees.

if the pinion is pointing to high that you will need lower adjustable controll arms to lower the pinion angle.

tc drop will not work if your pinion is to high.

what type is the suspension, is it stock or after market something doesn't sound right from what you said.

Right you are...

I'm wondering here if the mounting positions on the frames differ between the Ruby, and the Ulimited, causing the pinion to point up too high....may need to do some research on this!:awesomework:

according to rubicon express web site 99 to 2006 tj and 2003 to 2006 LJ ,both have the same upper and lower control arms in the rear. that also goes for the rubicons up to 2006.

the springs that came out of the LJ must not be stock height and that is why you can run 33 tires.

with 3 inch or better springs and stock control arms it will raise the pinion angle.

my earlier comment was based on the thought that they where stock springs and shouldn 't have that much affect on the pinion angle to cause vibrations.

on my tj a ran 2 inch buget boost for a couple years without lowering my tc or install a sye.

so that means if they are 3inch springs or better the tc drop should work, but the sye and new driveshaft would be a better option.

Thanks for the comments 99redtj. The LJ springs must be heavy-duty items as they came off of a Rubi LJ with a factory hardtop.

Time to get to work on this thing "project phony rubicon / grocery getter"
