What's the "hot" setup here?

Does everybody use the stock plastic hex and drive pin, or something else? I've heard that you can use 1:8 scale aluminum hexes with captured pins, anybody doing this?

I used the stock hex, but had to drill it out to fit down over the blackfoot axle. Tamiya makes a deeper hex for the TL-01 or something, but I'm not sure this gains me anything.

1/8 scale are 17mm tlt is 12.

That is the norm with the stock hex, the traxxas ones fit right on, but you will want the wideners, and they don't use one.

I B..

Duh! I forgot that the widners don't use the stock hex, but rather go right over the pin. I was thinking they were like my Clod adapters, with a hex on both ends.

Thanks guys!
