yha, mp8 can be a realy cool power box, i love rail presure! bosh loves rail presure. problem is injectors dont. 30kpsi is a watter jet. and when you find out your injector is controlled by a little check ball that is less than .5mm dia, you realise that even a minor blemish causes wierd stuff, once theres a blemish, the presure quickly eats thru the hard chrome seat that only a few microns thick, then thru the stainless body. this is why a 3 mic filter is needed.
the reason why the injectors crack is because you get a cp3 pump shoving all that presure/volume thru the injectors at hi volume (wot) then some one snaps the throttle closed , sudenly you just deadheaded the system Bosh reps are guessing that theres presure spikes over 100kpsi in those situations. they dont know for sure how high because they havent come up with a presure transducer with that kind of reasalution.
the cool thing about metal, it tells a story once you know how to read it. its simple to open up an injector body and look at it to see if its run contaminated fuel, presure, watter etc.
