Man the chop saw that I have had for about 6 years died on me the other day and now yesterday the Metabo lost a bearing (tore it apart today). :'( Gotta order parts just to get back going now. At least they should be inexpensive parts. :dunno:

I do have a question that maybe some of you guys might be able to help me with. The chop saw will run but it runs really slow and you can see lots of arcing where the brushes contact the armature, lots more than normal. Do I need to just replace the brushes or both brushes and armature?

I took the brushes out and cleaned that armature real good and then I noticed that the brushes had a couple of gouge marks in one of them so I filed it smooth and put it back in and still the same thing happened. :dunno:

Brushes for the chop saw- $3.50

Don't know about the metabo yet I got a reply to my email that said "I will be back in the office April 3rd." Guess I'll find out then whether or not I can get parts for it. :dunno:
