I seriously doubt any part of that Mason third member has anything to do with a 14 bolt.Top TT teams are using Mason, Tubeworks and Gearworks.The 9/10 and 14 bolt ring and pinion set up is the same design. Short pinion with 3 bearings.Yes a 14 bolt has a larger ring gear but you cannot control deflection in factory form.Yes the torq 3rd member design had load bolts just like many 9/10 3rd members.If we're comparing factory set ups, 14 bolt all day. Once you venture into aftermarket, the 14 bolt gets left behind. Both are awesome in their own ways.
