I recently added a 1994 Toyota pickup to the fleet. It has had a solid axle swap and appears do have been done pretty well. The problem is that with the nice soft springs it has, axle wrap when braking is causing the truck to pull hard to the right. The front axle is from an 85 model truck and still has the torque rod tabs. What have you guys done to install a torque rod (traction bar, anti wrap bar...) after a solid axle swap? Thanks in advance. -Rick

With crossover steering, you would need a pan hard bar.

Or replace the shocks with something firmer like a bilstein 5100. It shouldnt dive "that" much under braking.

Unless it sits super tall and the draglink angle is steep...

If it has the Toyota RUF springs, replace them with something that has the correct spring rate for the front of the truck. :dblthumb:

You may want to check that you don't have a stuck caliper first. Second something I learned from my lifted f-250 is if you let the steering wheel turn as the front dives the truck will run straight but the wheel will turn?

Update: Upon further inspection I found that the guy I bought this from lied to me about it being streetable to say the least! It does not even have all the plumbing in place for the rear brakes. That's right, no rear brakes! So, I have got to get that fixed before I can make any judgement about how it handles when it is stopping. At least all the hard lines are in place back to a bracket behind the gas tank. I am guessing that since the bake cylendars have been open to air, they will need to be replaced, and I have to figure out what lines I need to order to make it from the gas tank to the hub. Oh well, stuff happens.
