Right on the money... As far as the original question...I would take the Dana 44 over the Toy axle. The unit is much more capable of handling (in stock form even) a heavy vehicle, as well as generous amounts of HP and torque. I run one under my heavy vehicle with a bigger motor than most here and I wheel within the limits of my ability, NOT the limits of the axle. The axle serves very well for almost no money, with stock shafting and u-joints. When I am ready to reach beyond the limits of the axle and it is limiting me...Then I will move to a budget 60 build.
