We swapped out a 3.4 into Drama, skinny or what ever he goes by now's truck. It was sunk pretty good to cause the last engine to lockup. The new engine cranks and runs real rough almost like it has a few plugs fouled. All 6 plugs are firing, swapped wires and coil packs no change. What would cause it to read all 6 plugs miss firing when scanned? Thanks Pops

If it was submarined, how is the computer? also are the wiring harness plugs clean? might check those.

It's been sitting for about 6 months so maybe all the connections are OK but I'll check them out.The computer never got wet and it all looked OK but I know they can act crazy.I was going to swap computers first just wanted to hear someone else say COMPUTER before I started swapping parts. Thanks

Anyone else want to saaay Computer

if the computer was bad would you be able to scan it and get codes???? i would think you would have no communication with the obdII

Makes sence.........I'm lost,it just don't make sence to read miss firing on all 6 cylinders. It runs kinda like it's half firing.I didn't know if there was something electrical between the coils and computer that could interfear with firing.I checked all 6 cylinders for firing, all are firing(visually) Had one years ago that wasn't scaned but the computer got smashed a little and it opened one injector and washed one cylinder constantly. Thanks for any suggestions.Next step I guess is to locate a computer and swap out.

x2 on the positioning sensors..

Know of 2 differnt 3.4's that had troubles in that department,,,

Hey,thats a start.I'll swap out the some of the sensors next week. Thanks

I'm really lost now, does this have something to do with my NECK?You know I'm old and don't know all this new lingo. Are you nervous or SCARED? 20 hours in a truck...

Latest update........Scanned again and said pending codes miss firing on 1-3-4 .I unpluged the camshaft sensor and it made no difference in running. With it unplugged it throws the camshaft code so I guess its OK.I think I'll try new plugs tomorrow and try to think simple
