we are kinda lookin for a newer body 4runner and lots of them have the 3.4 liter just wondering if they are junk.........:corn: :corn:

Nope. The very first 3.4's out the door had issues with headgaskets but since then they have been a much better engine overall.

"Only" have 115k on mine so far, but others are getting 200k easy. 3.4L will be another long-runnning engine like the 22RE.

had good luck with mine, decent power, never missed a beat in the 120k i owned it, not great gas milage but i made it work for its keep

hmmm i wonder if it would be worth it to swap into an early pickup in exchange of the 22r? Poss better than a 302/350 swap?

How's your fab skills? Lots of stuff has been changed over to the other side, such as fuel and exhaust lines.

i fab for a living so that would be nothing for me.

my old racecar i built from ground up.

I always thaught a toyota 1kz diesel would be a great swap. 3.0L turbo diesel that sits in the same motor mounts as the 22re and bolts up to the trans as well. I wish these were more available here in the U.S.
