So im starting to put a 350 in my toyota and had a couple questions for the people who have done this before.

1) Im still running a toyota ifs steering box, do i use the chevy pump or toyota?

2) what type of headers do you need? I have some block huggers right now.

If I have anymore questions ill post them up but thats all i can think of right now. Thanks

chevy pump or yota it really doesn't matter much for street but if it'll be wheeled you're better off with a saginaw pump.

I used blockhuggers and if I were to do it again I'd run short tube headders meant for a later F body (camaro firebird etc).

Search my name either here or pirate bbs for some good info on the subject :awesomework:

My only question is why?

Are you going w/ a carb or EFI?

If EFI, is it a TBI motor?

A MAF 5.0 fits better, is lighter, and has better injection, and cools better.
A 4.3 fits better, is lighter, and is still a wal mart cheap Chevy motor if thats your thing.
A 3.4 is lighter, fits better, is a Toy motor, but is more expensive to buy and install

What are you working with and what is your goal?

if you swap in a 350 your axles won't last long... what it really comes down to though is the driver/style of wheeling

Sorry for the lack of info but its an 87 toyota standard cab short bed that i swapped a fullsize dana 44 up front (will be dana 60 when the 44 blows) and a ff14 bolt rear with about 5 inches of lift on 38's. I was going to put a 350/th350/205 (twin sticked with modified shift rails for front and rear digs) The reason for going with a 350 is because thats all ive ever worked on motor wise and i picked one up for a good deal. Im still trying to decide if im going to run a carb or go propane because right now there both going to be around the same price. Im pretty much building this thing for rocks/trails and snow but no mud. Any suggestions or criticism is welcomed as long as it will help.

Going w/ a 205 you are going to want deep axle gears cause the 205 has a shitty low range.

You say you are going to use it for rocks and trails, so go with propane... carbs bring the suck on an off-road rig.

Run the Chevy pump. On the headers you can you some block huggers, but you have to use the weld in mounts. Block huggers wont clear with the bolt in mounts. The bolt in mounts put the motor in a very shitty spot, I highly recomend buying the weld in kit from AA.

This is the internet. You are not allowed to be on a budget here.

Please put a bling injected bad mofo motor in it. You should make it a goal to use something you cant afford, cant work on, cant find parts for, and something that will deffinatly take at least 6 years to build on the internet.:awesomework:

Spoken like the true cheap ass that you are.

With the bolt in mounts dont you need a body lift to clear the motor or a big hammer? When I put the dana 44 in it I cut the toyota mounts off so im making my own mounts for the motor.

if you don't have a body lift you will most likely have to cut into your fire wall.. or mount the engine really far forward, i am in the process of swapping 60's and a sbc on pane in my yota, i cut a huge hole in my fire wall and now my motor mounts on the sbc are about a foot behind the stock 4cyl mounts on the frame:cool:
