In a 2002 Toyota Corolla, with the 1.8L 4cyl engine. Car ran and drove fine. Was parked for a few weeks. When started, the motor rattled quite bad (which sounded like timing chain slap) and was shut down. When tried to restart, the motor no longer fires off. Tries to, but doesn't seem to grab hold and run.
My thoughts are it's jumped timing chain.
So before I pull the cover off and look, is there anyone here with familiarity to this motor, and any other Toyota-specific concerns that come to mind.
The ignition, spark, fuel, air and such have been checked and seem to be in normal operation.
Thanks
