Toyota Dually Wheeler?

If its on a stock yota semi floater rear end, I would not expect that axle to hold up to the weight of those tires.

go look up the crustation or something like that trailtuff guy did it years ago

Along time ago when I was on the plane to hawaii I got a magazine with a samurai dullys front and rear, with front and rear steer.

But that axle the same one you talking about in the flat bed and the u hauls>?

No, I was talking about a stock yota axle. I wouldn't expect many axles to hold up to that tire combo, thats a lot of weight, I bet a 30 spline D60 wouldnt even stand up to that. Though, a 14B may...

The Factory Toyota 3/4 ton dual tire rear axle is quite stout. It uses the 4X4 differential, and axle tubes. I would say it would hold up to such a task.

I have an 88 dually flat bed with 300k on it. The truck weighs 4,300 pounds empty and I have rolled across the scales at 10,200 That load was on the bed, I was not towing a trailer.

Yes I said 3/4 ton. The only "1ton" toyota imported into the U.S. was a single tire long bed which had a "1ton" badge on the fenders and was rated for 1 ton.

What do you do for a living that brings you across all these toyotas?

I think 2 38x11 boggers one each side would be less then 1 44 inch bogger on a d60. But Its something i might try doing I dont know what size wheels those toyota dually rear ends run but it will be neat for a off road truck

I play with Toyotas as a past time. Buy and sell them, work on them and in the last year or so have been building engines like a mad man.

I have owned so damn many I couldn't possibly keep count. Some pretty rare ones too. I also have plenty of friends with them. One in perticular has some sweet ones. He ownes 4 duallys and plenty of others.

one 91 dually (originally V-6) is now a 98 4.0 V-8 from a Lexus LS400. I love it when a dually does a smoke show !!!!
He has a sweet original turbo 22RET 4x4
He has a 86 X-cab 4 cyl turbo truck converted to a 7MGTE

Anyways when it comes to Toyotas I gets around.

Anyways I have seen that dually axle handle some serious loads over and over again and not complain one bit. They use it in 2 ton cab overs in Japan. Long story short it was brought over here to satisfy a recall to motorhomes that had failing single tire axles and were killing people. Every once in a while you will find a brand new dually axle, four wheels, hardware, etc. straped to a pallet for sale. Thousands and thousands of them were shipped here for the recalls.

Your main problem would be they are a 14" x 6" JJ rim The lug pattern is all it's own and very odd. There isn't much spacing between them either. It can hold the weight I'm pretty sure of that. It's just a matter of figuring out how to make it all work.

Using it as a single has been done lots of times.

I was thinking very much the same:awesomework:

Dually axles are pretty groovy to play with. You can convert the odd large 6 lug to standard 6 lug and disc brakes with factory parts and either aftermarket or fabbed caliper brackets. You have to machine a spacer though, the small 6 bolt hub is shorter than the large 6 pattern.

I would think it would make turning hard with a locker and make the rig a bit wide. You would need a spacer between the wheels or else they will rub at low psi and kill the tire fast. For snow or sand it would be killer but as for trails I would think a single rear would be better.

just a thought, the military has run duallys for years in all kinds of enviroments.

now they are phasing them out in favor of super singles. Just sayin.

if you put dually on your yoter, dont forget the stacks jethro.:redneck:
