I am thinking its almost time to replace my engine.. I am not quite sure as to what to swap.. Please give me your thoughts and why you picked it. I am not sure if I should stick with the 22re.. How hard of a swap is your pick?

Every swap has it's own issues, but unless you tell us the Paul Harvey, you'll get garbage for answers.

What type of rig?
What type of axles?
What type of wheelin' you doin'?
What type of mechanical expertise?
What type of budget?
etc

and EVERY poll around these parts, needs to have a "Boobies" option, for the folks that don't have an opinion (.)(.) other than boobies are always good.

I've never seen a V8 in a toyota that was a wheeler work good. Too much heat and to heavy. If the engine dosen't over heat the the power steering or brake fluid does. I would go chev 4.3 or toy 2.7, or 3.4
The toy 3.4 has as much HP as the chev 4.3

We definitely need more info from ya!
If you stick to a 22re talk to ENGNBLDR, LC Engineering, DOA or any local motor rebuilder! They can get you 22re's that can push some serious power. A local kid here in town bought a LC stage 5 motor I think and had a local engine guru make it better, and now it's pushing over 200+ hp. That would be the easiest of any options!
Other than that, I'd go with a 3rz, with Marlin bellhousing, R151f tranny, and Off-Road Solutions has a wiring harness that will complete the swap. Just have to fabricate some engine mounts and some minor other stuff! Check out 3rz info at MarlinCrawler, Pirate, and various other sites!

Just rebuild the stock motor.

If you upgrade you are going to have to replace tranny and axles at minimum. Then it just turns into a money pit and at the the end you sit there looking at it scratching your head saying "I could have built a buggy".

I agree with this statement:redneck:

Once you upgrade the motor it turns into a domino effect:awesomework:
