Ok, so I had originally planned to upgrade my front brakes on my Toyota by using a V6 master, IFS calipers and IFS vented rotors. What ended up happening is I needed new front pads badly, so I figured Id throw those in because they were cheap and I needed to drive the truck. Upon trying to install new pads discovered I had a siezed up caliper. So, I bought some reman calipers and tossed on thinking that I would just run it like that for a while since I couldnt get the rotors in time (through work), and once again, needed to drive the truck. If youre following, the truck now has brand new calipers and pads up front.
A while ago while wheeling, my star lock washer thingy broke the tabs off and the wheel bearing nut loosened, allowing the rotor to slide out and make contact with the caliper, thus grooving and destroying the rotor on one side. So, now I have to replace my rotors too.
Of course, I want to upgrade when I can, and Id really like to get the vented rotors up front, but I was always under the impression that you have to have the IFS calipers to use the vented rotors. However, while browsing Trail-Gears website, I came across a statement which makes me second guess this.
Ive highlited the section in bold. To me, this sounds like you can use the vented rotors with the non-IFS calipers (IE - stock solid axle calipers like I have). So, can anyone confirm if this is the case? Id really like to not have to go with new calipers again since I just bought new ones for the damn thing, so if I can actually use the vented rotors with the solid axle calipers, that would be amazing. If not, that sucks, haha. Thanks in advance everyone!

EDIT: Does it seem to anyone else, that I need to learn to just do things once?
RE-EDIT: Can someone measure the thickness of their IFS rotors for me?

1986 and later pickups and 4Runner feature larger vented rotors from the factory. Earlier 1979-1985 trucks used solid (non vented) rotors up front along with smaller calipers. If your installing a solid front axle on an 86 and later rig you will want to install a set of these vented rotors onto the axle. With these rotors you will be able use your existing larger IFS calipers. Simply unbolt your existing rotors and replace them with these vented rotors. Slight grinding of the rotors backing plate will be needed. Then simply install the IFS calipers right on to the solid axle using the factory bolts.
These rotors can also be used on 85 and older trucks to increase braking effectiveness. Fits 81-85 Solid axles with 8 hole style rotors.
