Im going to be running 35's maybe 36's until I get bobby longs. Does my power steering need a cooler if so any good brands you would suggest. Has anybody used the stock air conditioning cooler or is that a no go? looking to do it cheap but also want it reliable.. Any ideas would be a good help look for my build soon as I just mostly finish the front suspension, steering, and all that good crap.. :corn:

As long as you have the system open anyway you may as well put a larger reservoir in there at the same time. I used a standard trans cooler with power steering and full hydro and the whole system works fine and stays cool.

Any good resevoirs that are on the cheap like something I can pull out of a diffrent rig or something?? what about dual toyota resevoirs?

Dual reservoir is always a good option. I have one out of a kenworth that holds a gallon but that kind of ridiculousness isn't required. :redneck:

stock ac cooler is a no go. there is a flat spot in one or both of the hard lines where they go into the side of the condensor(sp) when i was running a stock toy pump it worked fine but when i put a TG high flow pump and hydro assist. upon start up it instantly blew out the power steering box input shaft seal

alot of people take two res cut the bottom off one, top off the other and weld um up

I was wactually looking at that earlier when I was thinking of the duals.. I am going to do some searching and see what I cant dig up as far as what rigs runs external resevoirs.

Poke around in a salvage yard, and look for a tube style trans cooler with the right size nipples:redneck:, some trucks maaaay already have a decent aftermarket cooler on it you can grab....:awesomework: But hell, a brand new universal trans cooler (tube style) is only like $30-$40!

This has been a thought of mine also just to lazy to do it. I did read in a Toy service manual that the normal operating temp is 178 degrees F. Thats hot :redneck:

So before I fill this thing up when im done whats the best fluid to go with? i think i have put either atf or type f in powersteering before but dont remember off hand..

You running a stock pump? If so Dexron like whitey said.........

If you have an aftermarket pump check with the manufactuer, I just put a TG pump on and they recomend royal purple but said either standard or synthetic is fine just dont use a synthetic blend.
