Anyone have a link to a tech article about the power steering pump mods on a Yota pump for more pressure? I have searched around and cant seem to find a good one.

Thanks in advance :awesomework:

good link. thanks

Alot of the posts in there are guys w/ assist rams. I don't have a ram... anyone on here done these pump mods w/o hydro assist?

My steering just seems shitty at best for only having 35's, and it is really bad when they are down around 4psi

Par for the course. Mine with 36's and stock PS = popeye arms. :redneck:

I use small washers for my R/C shiat to shim the relief valve without having to shave the piston. Then I drill the restrictor and call it a day. It works fawking sweet with full hydro too. :D

Both flow and pressure? I'd think without a ram all you really need to worry about is shimming the relief valve... :eeek:

I never have shimmed mine I just bore it out and it makes a big difference. only need to shim if you have a loss of pressure and I haven't once I drilled the valve.

Shimming the relief valve raises what pressure the pump will bypass at. Drilling the restrictor upps the volume only....

For a ram you need to lose the restrictor so the steering isn't so slow. If you still can't turn it needs more pressure...
